Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic empowerment strategy of rural communities through sustainable tourism in rural areas of Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the potential, challenges, and impacts of sustainable tourism development on the economy, social, and culture of village communities. The results of the study show that sustainable tourism contributes positively to increasing the income of village communities through the creation of local business opportunities, cultural preservation, and strengthening social cohesion. Support from local communities and local governments is an important factor in the success of tourism village management, while limited infrastructure and access to financing are the main obstacles. This study emphasizes the importance of policies that support the provision of infrastructure, skills training, and financing for the sustainable development of village tourism. With the right support, sustainable tourism has the potential to be the main driving force in creating economic and social prosperity in Indonesian villages. This study finds that sustainable tourism can contribute empower village communities economically. Proper strategies and support can enhance local incomes and promote long-term development.
